Is iDBQuery a data warehouse?

No — iDBQuery is not a data warehouse and does not require one. Instead of copying your data into a central warehouse, it builds one live queryable model across your existing databases and files and queries them in place, so you skip the warehouse project entirely.

A data warehouse is a central store you copy data into, usually through ETL pipelines, before you can analyse it. iDBQuery takes the opposite approach.

  • No central copy. iDBQuery connects to your databases, spreadsheets, files and APIs where they already live.
  • One live model, not a warehouse. It builds a single queryable model across those sources so a question can span all of them at once, without physically moving the data.
  • Query in place. It reads only what a question needs, at query time, so answers reflect current data rather than the last pipeline run.

This matters because building and maintaining a warehouse is a project measured in months and specialist headcount. With iDBQuery you connect a source and start asking questions the same day. If you already have a warehouse, that is fine too — iDBQuery connects to it as a standard SQL data warehouse and can query it alongside your other sources. So iDBQuery is not a replacement system of record; it is the AI layer that lets anyone get cited answers from whatever data you have, warehouse or not.
