iDBQuery's Snowflake connector turns the Snowflake Data Cloud into a conversational analytics surface. Provide your account identifier (e.g. `abc-xy12345.us-east-1`), warehouse, database, schema, role, user, and password (or a key-pair authentication setup for tighter security), and the schema across the databases your role can see is introspected automatically. The AI sees tables, views, materialized views, columns, data types, primary and foreign keys (where defined), and clustering keys, and uses that to write correct Snowflake SQL the first time. Every chat question becomes a safe parametrized SELECT, executed against the warehouse you specified — so cost stays predictable — and returned as a chart, table, stat card, or dashboard. Snowflake-specific features — `QUALIFY`, `LATERAL FLATTEN` for VARIANT/JSON, time-travel queries with `AT (TIMESTAMP =>)`, `MATCH_RECOGNIZE`, semi-structured JSON path access — are all in the model's vocabulary. We strongly recommend creating a dedicated read-only role with `USAGE` on the database/schema and `SELECT` on the relevant tables, plus `USAGE` on a small/x-small warehouse, to keep both permissions and credit usage tight. Account credentials are encrypted at rest with strong symmetric encryption, used only at query time, and never returned by any API. Use the account identifier from your Snowflake URL — usually of the form `abc-xy12345.us-east-1` (or your custom org-account name).
Choose a small warehouse (xs or s) for analytical queries, the database and default schema, and the role you want iDBQuery to act as. A dedicated read-only role is the recommended pattern.
