When the other one is the right choice
Choose Metabase when you have one database, a small team, and want something free and self-hosted running this afternoon. It is a good product with an honest open-source offering, and for a single Postgres and a handful of saved questions it may be all you need. iDBQuery earns its keep when the answer has to span sources that do not live in the same database — and when someone will ask where a number came from.
