Who owns my data when I use iDBQuery?
You do — you retain full ownership of your data when using iDBQuery. It queries your sources to answer questions but does not take ownership of them, and your data is never sold or used to train shared AI models. You can export or delete it at any time.
Data ownership is a fair thing to ask before connecting a tool to your systems. With iDBQuery, ownership stays firmly with you.
- Your data is yours. iDBQuery connects to your sources to read what a question needs; it does not claim ownership of your databases, files or the answers derived from them.
- Not sold, not shared. Your data is never sold, and it is never used to train shared or public AI models.
- You stay in control. You can export your data and delete it, and role-based access governs who inside your organisation can see what.
- Architecture backs it up. For maximum control, deploy iDBQuery in your own VPC, on your own hardware, or fully air-gapped, and use the Desktop app so data stays local.
This is deliberately different from tools where your usage quietly improves a vendor's model. iDBQuery's value comes from querying your data accurately and citing it — not from harvesting it. For a regulated finance team or a school handling student records, that distinction is the whole point: you can adopt the tool without handing over custody of sensitive information. Ownership and control remain with the organisation that the data belongs to.
