iDBQuery vs Domo: what's the difference?
Domo is a broad cloud BI and data-app platform with many connectors and its own ETL and AI features, but your data lives in Domo's cloud; iDBQuery is a plain-language chat that queries your sources in place, cites every number, and deploys in the cloud, your VPC, on a Desktop, or fully air-gapped.
Domo is an expansive cloud platform: hundreds of connectors, Magic ETL for transformations, dashboards, data apps and its own AI. If you want an all-in-one cloud suite and are comfortable centralising data in Domo's cloud, it covers a lot of ground.
iDBQuery is narrower and sharper, and it treats your data differently:
- Your data stays put. iDBQuery queries sources in place and can run in the cloud, your own VPC, a local Desktop app, or fully air-gapped, rather than requiring you to load data into a vendor cloud.
- Answers, not just dashboards. You ask in plain language and get a cited number, chart, table or live dashboard in seconds; the SQL is written for you.
- Citations to the row. Every figure links back to the exact source rows, so answers are auditable.
- One model, no ETL project. Databases, warehouses, spreadsheets, PDFs, folders (with OCR) and APIs unify into a single live model without pipelines.
Domo is a fit when you want a full cloud data suite and do not mind hosting data there. iDBQuery is a fit when data cannot or should not leave your environment, when you need cited answers, and when you would rather ask a question than build and maintain dashboards and pipelines.
