What is a data warehouse?
A data warehouse is a central database that collects data copied from many operational systems and reshapes it for analysis and reporting. Building and maintaining one usually takes pipelines, modelling and ongoing engineering. iDBQuery lets you query across your sources without first building a warehouse.
A data warehouse is a purpose-built store for analytics. Rather than querying live production systems, organisations copy data out of them — sales, finance, product, support — into one warehouse, transform it into consistent tables, and run reporting and BI on top. Warehouses are good at large-scale historical analysis, but they come with real cost: pipelines to move data, modelling to shape it, and a team to keep it all running. There's also a lag — the warehouse only knows what the last load told it.
iDBQuery relates to data warehouses in two ways:

So a warehouse remains a sound choice for heavy, centralised historical analytics, but if your goal is simply to get cited answers across the systems you already have, iDBQuery gets you there without the warehouse project — and it works happily alongside a warehouse you've already built.
